Masters Challenge

The Masters Challenge is a debating competition which is run for students from years 5 to 12.The competition style and rules have been based solely on teachers and coaches feedback from other competitions, so that the best experience is provided for the student. To ensure that our reputation for a high standard of debating is maintained, the Masters Challenge has experienced, quality adjudicators managing all rounds.

Why is it unique?

The Masters Challenge is the first debating competition to offer its participants access to the resources in a prep room!

Previously, most debating competitions have been 1 hour preparation without the ability to take anything into the 'prep room' - We encourage it! By allowing access to outside resources, students will have to exercise considerable analytical and evaluational skill to make sure that their material is reasonable and relevant.

In addition, the role of the coach will be called upon. For the first 30 minutes of the hour long prep session, the coach will be allowed to interact with the students inside the prep room!

This competition should be a valuable experience for all!

The Masters Challenge will be offered to the following age groups :

  • Years 5 - 6
  • Years 7 - 8
  • Years 9 - 10
  • Years 11 - 12

All winners from the competition will receive medallions in recognition of their involvement.

Entry forms for the Masters Challenge will be sent to schools in late March.
